Old Cuban

The Old Cuban cocktail was invented in early 2000. This creation made with aged rum gained popularity across the drinking world because it’s a fine variation on the Mojito, switching out the soda for champagne and the white rum for a dark aged rum. It's simply delicious!

Ingredients


  • 50 ml Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva
  • 25 ml lime juice
  • 20 ml sugar syrup
  • 5 mint leaves
  • 2 drops of bitters
  • Top up with champagne, cava or Prosecco

Glass


  • Coupe glass

Ice


  • Ice cubes, only for the shaker

Garnish


  • Mint sprig

Method


  • Muddle mint leaves using a muddler. Add lime juice, simple syrup, bitters and Reserva Exclusiva rum to shaker and fill with ice. Shake vigorously until well chilled. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Top with champagne, cava or Prosecco.
